ACCOMMODATION REVIEW
Owned and run by the Hughes family, the four-star St Andrews Golf Hotel, as its name suggests, is ideal for the golfer and is located just a stone throw away from the famous Old Course at St Andrews. Comprising two stately Victorian houses, the hotel offers magnificent views over St Andrews Bay and the Old Course Links. Your first impression will be of warmth and character and the interior has been tastefully designed with the utmost comfort of the guest in mind. Central to the St Andrews Golf Hotel is its level of hospitality and in this, you will not be disappointed.
The St Andrews Golf Hotel offers a total of 22 en-suite rooms, many of which offer sea views, and most have recently been fully refurbished. By design, old Victorian style houses lack the uniformity of modern hotels so each of the rooms have been individually styled and boast their own unique colour schemes. You can't help but be impressed by the quality of the furnishings in the rooms - the drapes and bedspreads are luxurious, while the bathrobes and towels are soft and large. Fresh flowers and a welcoming fruit basket are also standard to the experience.
Central to your stay at the St Andrews Golf Hotel is the award-winning, oak-panelled candle-lit restaurant with its stunning views over the bay. A leisurely full Scottish breakfast sets you up for a day on the links, while in the evening; the restaurant takes on a different atmosphere - intimate and relaxing. The cuisine is excellent and the menu, which features the very best local produce, is complemented by a wine list of rare quality. More casual dining can be enjoyed downstairs in Ma Bells' Bistro Bar, which also happens to be one of St Andrews most popular watering holes and is popular with locals and visitors alike.

In a restaurant, which would not be out of place in a French village, the menu reflects the best of local Scottish produce at any given time. The wine-list, by the way, is a real treat.
