ACCOMMODATION REVIEW
Just a nine-iron away from the first tee of the most famous links golf course in the world, Rusacks Hotel opened its doors for business in 1887 just as the game of golf began to take off in earnest. You cannot imagine a better location for a hotel than that provided by Rusacks Hotel and though the vista has hardly changed in over a century, the hotel has been stylishly remodelled over the years and now provides fine four-star accommodation, reflecting the history of golf and of course, taking advantage of its prestigious location.
An historical, elegant and imposing building, Rusacks Hotel offers priceless views over the sea and St Andrews Old Course, in particular the 1st and 18th holes. There are 68 en-suite rooms in total, including 7 superb suites and all are individually named and themed, with the aim of tracing the evolution of the game of golf. Each of the rooms offer the facilities expected of a four-star hotel, while most provide that most sought after view in golf - over the St Andrews Old Course! The Sun Lounge or Old Course Bar at Rusacks are ideal venues in which to kick back over a rare malt whisky, while the Old Course Restaurant serves some fine Scottish cuisine.
Quite apart from the convenient location to the town of St Andrews and all its great golf courses, Rusacks is also the perfect base from which to play the likes of Kingsbarns, Crail, Carnoustie and even Gleneagles, so from a golfers' perspective, Rusacks is second to none. But Rusacks is not all about golf. There is also plenty to do and see for non-golfers and off-duty golfers alike. The Fife Peninsula is more than just a monument to the niblick and putter, while the sheer number of castles in the vicinity stand as valuable reminders of the ferocious nature of Scotland's past.

In a restaurant, which would not be out of place in a French village, the menu reflects the best of local Scottish produce at any given time. The wine-list, by the way, is a real treat.
