ACCOMMODATION REVIEW
Situated in the town of Auchterarder, the Coll Earn House Hotel is a small but beautiful turreted country house style establishment and is an ideal (and more economical) alternative to Gleneagles Hotel when playing the Kings, Queens or PGA Centenary golf courses at Gleneagles. Set in nine acres of tranquil gardens, Coll Earn House was built in 1870 and today, the building stands as a marvellous tribute to the extravagance and eccentricities of Victorian architecture.
The transformation of Coll Earn from a family home obviously required some refurbishment and the attention to detail put into this becomes clear as you wander through the impeccably restored wood-panelled interiors, which successfully retain the warmth and charm of a bygone era. Combine this image with the scent of freshly cut flowers, the warmth created by open log fires and beautiful soft furnishings and you can begin to understand what the Coll Earn House is all about.
Coll Earn House is a small intimate venue and there are only eight guestrooms, all of which are spacious and luxuriously appointed. Each room boasts a private bathroom and all the facilities one would expect from a top hotel, while the unusual pine-panelled Turret Room, once a study, has now been converted into the premier bedroom at Coll Earn. Named after Daniel Cottier, the man responsible for many of the stained glass works-of-art throughout the house, the Cottier Restaurant offers a great setting to enjoy the extensive a la carte menu, while the William Lieper Bar, with its warm atmosphere, is the ideal venue to quench a terrible thirst!

This refreshingly appealing restaurant offers good food, accurately cooked from quality ingredients. Worthy of particular note is the pan-fried halibut fillet, with stir-fried greens.
