Once described as "the most beautiful Regency House in Scotland", the Boath House was on Historic Scotland's endangered list in the early 1990's when Don & Wendy Matheson found it, fell in love with it and set about restoring the building to its original splendour. Today, the Boath House is set on 20 majestic acres of land, including a beautiful lake and traditional walled-garden and attracts guests from around the world.
Much has changed at the Boath House since those early halcyon days of the Dunbar family but though the kitchens have been relocated from the basement to the ground floor and are now equipped with 20th century appliances, what has not changed is the fine traditional cuisine served here. Renowned for its award-winning cuisine, the Boath House is one of the finest restaurants in Scotland. Freshly prepared local fare based on traditional foods and old recipes combine with new ideas from the Continent to give a balanced an interesting menu.
